Hiring an Office Manager to Support Lawyers in Daily Operation of Law Firm

Our client is seeking an Office Manager to support their lawyers in the daily operation of their new firm. This an in-office position and the role will be to manage the office and will also include some accounting duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Liase between management and staff
  • Responsible for full-cycle accounting taking the books to trial balance each month and T4’s at year end.
  • Year-end accounting preparation for off-site accountants
  • Payroll, benefits and vacation scheduling
  • Trust accounting for numerous financial institutions including all month-end bank reconciliations
  • All remittances and reporting to various government agencies and the Law Society of British Columbia including Annual Trust Reports and CDIC reporting
  • Oversee management and maintenance of premises, equipment and supplies
  • Primary liaison with third party providers including Property Managers and Information Technology consultants

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years experience in a law firm
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, PCLaw
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and compartmentalize tasks.
  • Reliable with good judgement and the ability to work under minimal supervision and ability to show initiative
  • Friendly and upbeat demeanor

Salary for this position will be $80,000 – $100,000 and is dependent on skills and experience. Please send your resume today!
