Our client is seeking an Office Manager to support their lawyers in the daily operation of their new firm. This an in-office position and the role will be to manage the office and will also include some accounting duties.
Responsibilities:
- Liase between management and staff
- Responsible for full-cycle accounting taking the books to trial balance each month and T4’s at year end.
- Year-end accounting preparation for off-site accountants
- Payroll, benefits and vacation scheduling
- Trust accounting for numerous financial institutions including all month-end bank reconciliations
- All remittances and reporting to various government agencies and the Law Society of British Columbia including Annual Trust Reports and CDIC reporting
- Oversee management and maintenance of premises, equipment and supplies
- Primary liaison with third party providers including Property Managers and Information Technology consultants
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years experience in a law firm
- Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, PCLaw
- Strong ability to multitask
- Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and compartmentalize tasks.
- Reliable with good judgement and the ability to work under minimal supervision and ability to show initiative
- Friendly and upbeat demeanor
Salary for this position will be $80,000 – $100,000 and is dependent on skills and experience. Please send your resume today!
